All about powders...

✨POWDERS✨

Translucent, Setting, Finishing and Brightening powders...there are so many!

The main purpose of these powders is to “set” your foundation/concealer, while diminishing the appearance of texture on your skin, minimize pores, reduce fine lines and provide an overall flawless finish. These powders also help your foundation to last longer, minimize shine and prevent transfer. Sounds too good to be true, huh? They can work wonders, if used right!

✨Translucent Powders are usually light in colour; white, pink, or a pale yellow. Once buffed and pushed into the skin the right way, this will leave no colour on the skin. This is primarily used under the eyes to set concealers and remove any shine on the face.

✨Setting and Finishing powder can also have some colour but are usually closer to your skin tone. This is used by brushing or patting on a light layer on all over the face, which seals and sets your foundation/concealer.

✨Brightening powders are a bit newer to the game which provides a subtle highlight to your face, usually in areas that you would apply concealer. This is applie on top of your translucent/setting powder.

I try to cheat and get a three in one, by using a setting powder that is lighter than my skin tone, which does everything as previously mentioned and also provides a subtle highlight!

Pictured here are my current favs which are super affordable and work wonderfully on my skin tone and deeper.
